Journalist Lucy Stutesman of Washington State University has earned her place in The New York Times Corps talent-mentorship program. Twenty-one college students are selected from across the country to participate. The program began in 2022 and is designed for undergraduates who are pursuing journalism. Stutesman will be paired with Sharon Chan, deputy editor, Culture and Careers.
Stutesman is Editor-In-Chief of The Daily Evergreen and third-year student at Washington State University majoring in multimedia journalism and broadcast news. She is also a contributing writer for the Spokesman-Review, FaVS News, and Stonewall News Northwest.
